Yeliz - Head Girl 2020

To all our new Year 7s,

I know how daunting it can be starting High school moving up from Primary school but it will be fine, you'll soon settle in and make new friends . When I first started High school I was quiet, shy and didn't have much confidence but not that long ago I was stood in front of the whole school presenting a speech to become Head Girl 2020.  My confidence has grown so much over the past 5 years that I've been at St Augustine's.

You will learn so much if you put the work in, it can be hard and challenging at times but it is all worth it in the end. My favourite subjects where Food technology and PE. I enjoyed these subjects as I always learnt something new but found them fun too and enjoyed myself.  The teachers are great, they will help you along the way supporting you not just in lessons but throughout your overall experiences at St. Augustine's.

I strongly encourage you to get involved in after school clubs, I was a part of the netball team and have taken part in other clubs such as gym club, but no matter what you are interested in there will always be something for you to get involved in.

Enjoy the next 5 years at St. Augustine's and work hard to get the best possible grades in Y11.

Rhiannon - Head Prefect 2020

To our new Year 7s,

As a head prefect I can say you will soon settle in and everything will calm down.

The teachers will support you with anything and I do insist on you talking to them if need be as they have helped me a lot.  Settling into high school is hard at first but it gets easier. Doing lessons you love will make your day and I’m sure the teachers you have will make it better as they’re all very lovely and supportive.

Hopefully one of you will become a head prefect or even head girl/boy one day and see it from our perspective.
