Netballers Make Merseyside Finals
Congratulations to the Year 7 Netballers who represented St. Helens at this weeks Merseyside School Games Tournament. The tournament was split into two groups and our girls were drawn in Group 1 against 6 other teams from Liverpool, Wirral, Knowsley and Sefton.
There were some tough games and the girls played some excellent netball and had an outstanding performance against Bellerieve, from Liverpool, beating them
4-3. It was a really enjoyable event and the girls showed excellent effort and attitude throughout the day - it was a fantastic achievement to reach the finals. A great way to end the netball season.

Sports Leaders Praised
To PE Head of Dept,
In my role as a TA at a local primary school, I recently took some of my pupils to Lansbury Bridge for the KS1 multi skills event. St Augustine’s students were there as Sports Leaders, organising and supervising the children in the various events.
I felt the need to contact you to tell you what fantastic ambassadors for your school the Year 9's were - I was particularly struck by their enthusiasm; their friendly manner; and how well they engaged with adults and children alike.
I thought it important that you knew just what a wonderful job they did and that they represented St Augustine’s PE department superbly.
TA at Rainford CE Primary

Congratulations to the Y8 Basketball team who won the St Helens Schools Basketball tournament at Hope Academy on the 7th March 2019. The boys defeated St Cuthbert’s, Cowley and Hope Academy before beating Rainford in the winner takes all final game. In a final that was in the balance Jayme Johnson stepped up to score the winning basket with just seconds remaining. An excellent effort by all the students involved. Well done to the team of Liam, Adrean, Declan, Josh, Jayme, Oliver and Lewis.
A great result for our year 7 netball team who produced a fantastic team performance at the recent St Helens Central League with a great win over St Cuthbert’s. Fabulous shooting from Rebecca and Keira helped us to the win. A tighter game against Rainhill saw some good performances narrowly defeated 3 -1. Unfortunately, we were then up against an experienced Rainford team who showed us how to play. All experience and we showed determination and resilience, never once giving up!
Special mention to Janusha and Demi Lee who were loaned out to a depleted St Cuthbert’s team.
The Year 7 football team defeated Sutton Academy with an emphatic 6-2 victory. Goals from Kyle (2), Alfie, Charlie, Charlie and Jamie ensured comfortable progression to the 2nd round of the St Helens Cup. Well done to all 17 boys on the evening who were excellent ambassadors for the school
The Year 8 football team continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Sutton Academy. Goals from Maksymilian and Thomas ensured the victory. Well done to all the students involved and keep up the hard
